56 DIVISION PROVIDES SCHOOL ITEMS FOR STUDENTS IN FAR-OFF SCHOOLS

As a concept initiated by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu to enhance the education of students living in far off areas, a donation of essential school items was organised at V/Etambagaskada School on 26 November 2018 by troops of 56 Division.

With the sponsorship of a well-known jewellery trader in Sri Lanka, the Raja Jewellers Colombo financially assisted in distributing school bags, shoes, stationeries and other essential school accessories for 71 students from Grade 1 to 5 of schools in remote areas.

The donation programme was successfully launched under the guidance of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).

Commander 563 Brigade Colonel EADP Edirisinghe psc together with Colonel General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Colonel PAM Peiris RSP USP psc graced the occasion as Chief Guests while the Principal of /Etambagaskada School Mr S Premasiri and his staff were too present as distinguished officials.
