As the celebration of 69th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army, troops under 56 Division organised a donation campaign to distribute sets of books and reading materials for students in Omanthai Vdyalaya on 09 October 2018.
More than 155 Child Story Books and 95 Short stories were donated to the library of OmanthaiVidyalayaduring the programme with the sponsorship of several well-wishers. Subsequently, a large number of valuable English Books was donated by the philanthropists living in abroad.
The donation ceremony was graced by the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Major General PrabathDematanpitiyandupsc as the chief guest.
The Commander 563 Brigade Colonel E A D P Edirisinghepsc, Senior Officers of 56 Division and 563 Brigade, the Principal of OmanthaiVidyalaya Mr Thanabalasingham together with staff members of the School and number of students were present at the occasion.
