As an initiative of General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General H P Senavirathne VSV USP ndu has initiated a programme to distribute coconut saplings among people living in Vavuniya and Kokeliya areas on 04 August 2019.
The donation was sponsored by one of the leading trademarks in Sri Lanka Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Limited and it was coordinated by Major General (Rtd) Mendaka Samarasinghe. During the event, over 1000 coconut saplings were distributed among people.
The General Officer Commanding 56 Ddivision Major General H P Senavirathne VSV USP ndu made his presence as the chief guest of the event.
Commanders of 561 and 563 Brigades, Officials representing several government institutions and large number of civilians too were presence for the occasion.
