56 DIVISION CELEBRATED 18 ANNIVERSARY WITH DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES
The 56 Div was established on 17 October 1997 at Kanagarayankulam, and at present division consisted with 02 x Brigades (05 x Battalions), E/E Pt and BTS.rnrnDivision is under command to Security Force Headquarters Wanni and was celebrated 18 anniversary with a series of programmes during month of October 02, 03 and 04 under the directions of Brigadier I P Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division.rnrnThe directions of General Officer Commanding , 56 Division, the events were started. It was included Inter battalion Cricket tournament, Distribution of school items for Nedunkulam School Children, Pirith chanting with heel danaya, Hindu, Muslim, Christian religious ceremonies were also held. Other than that following ceremonies were held, Guard Turnout, parade, troop’s address, Tree planting, and all rank lunch. rnrnFor the pirith chanting Commander Security Force Headquarters Wanni Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, senior officers and other distinguish guest participated. 18 anniversary was successfully ended with directions of General Officer Commanding, 56 Division and all Ranks of 56 Division.
