The General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, paid a formal visit to the 562 Infantry Brigade and the battalions of the 12(V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and the 17(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 2 October 2024.
The General Officer Commanding was welcomed according to traditional military customs by the Commanding Officer, officers, and all troops with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the 12(V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. He addressed the troops before proceeding to the 562 Infantry Brigade.
At the 562 Infantry Brigade, he was received by the Brigade Commander. During his short stay, the General Officer Commanding signed the Visitors' Book at the brigade headquarters before moving on to the 17(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
At the 17(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, the General Officer Commanding was welcomed with traditional military customs by the Commanding Officer, officers, and all troops, with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. He then addressed the troops.
The Brigade Commander of the 562 Infantry Brigade, Colonel General Staff, and the Commanding Officers participated in the event.
