In an effort to curb the rapid spread of Dengue in the Mannar district, the troops of the 541 Infantry Brigade, including those of the 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the 10 (V) Gemunu Watch conducted a Dengue prevention campaign inside the G T M Primary School premises in Kalliyady, Mannar on Wednesday (22 November 2023).
Following directions given by Colonel B.Y.C Fernando RWP USP, Commander, 541 Infantry Brigade, troops also provided a free lunch to all the students along with a stock of school accessories.
The Civil Affairs Officer of the 541 Infantry Brigade, along with officers and other ranks from under command battalions, as well as principal, teachers, parents, and students, contributed to the preparations of the event.
