541 Infantry Brigade Marks 15th Anniversary with Commemorative Events

The 541 Infantry Brigade proudly celebrated its 15th Anniversary on 10 September 2025, with a series of religious, ceremonial, and community-oriented programmes organized under the guidance of Brigadier I.P. Jayasinghe RWP, Commander, 541 Infantry Brigade.

As part of the commemorative programme, a Bodhi Puja ceremony and alms-giving were conducted on 11 September 2025 at the historic Mathota Temple, invoking blessings on the Brigade, its personnel, and their families. The main sequence of anniversary events was held on 13 September 2025 at the Brigade Headquarters premises. The day commenced with a Guard Turnout presented to the Brigade Commander, followed by the ceremonial opening of a newly constructed lecture hall and a sapling planting ceremony, symbolizing growth and sustainability.

Thereafter, the Commander addressed all Officers, Other Ranks, and civilian staff, reflecting on the Brigade’s proud history, challenges overcome, and the path ahead. His remarks were followed by an All Ranks Tea Party, fostering unity and fellowship among personnel.

The day’s celebrations concluded with an All Ranks Dinner and a musical evening, strengthening camaraderie and esprit de corps among members of the Brigade.

A landmark feature of the 15th Anniversary was the inauguration of the newly constructed, fully facilitated Lecture Hall at the Brigade Headquarters. Declared open by Brigadier Jayasinghe, the facility fulfils a long-standing requirement for a modern venue to conduct training, educational programmes, and official functions. Remarkably, the project was completed without government funds, relying entirely on local resources under the concept, direction, and close supervision of the Brigade Commander. This achievement stands as a testament to the Brigade’s unity, resourcefulness, and dedication.

Since its inception, the 541 Infantry Brigade has remained steadfast in fulfilling its operational responsibilities while also extending continuous support to civil administration and community development within its area of responsibility. The 15th Anniversary celebrations not only honoured the Brigade’s proud legacy but also reaffirmed the commitment of its personnel to serve the nation with professionalism and unwavering dedication.
