54 DIVISION ORGANIZES THE THIRD FAMILY TRIP

According to a concept initiated by Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Annual Family Trip was organized by troops of 54 Division during 18 to 21 December 2018.

This was the third family trip organised under the supervision of General Officer Commanding 54 Division Brigadier Senarath Bandara RWP RSP ndu and the directions of Commander 543 Brigade Brigadier Thilak Hangilipola RWP RSP.

374 members of 74 families, representing Headquarters of 54 Division, all Brigades and Battalions under 54 Division participated in the family trip with great pleasure.

The first phase of the family trip was to Anuradhapura sacred city and all family members visited Ruwanweli Maha Seya, Lowamahapaya, Srimahabodiya, Thuparamaya, Jethavanaramaya, Abayagiriya, Mirisawetiya, Mihinthale and Thanthirimale.

Then, all the family members visited Mathota Rajamaha Viharaya, Thiruketheeswaram Kovil, Mannar fort, Biobab tree Thaleimannar pier, Madu Church and Hanging Bridge.

As the final event, all families were invited to entertain at the musical extravaganza while all kids were enjoying with several games and all of them were benefited with gifts which were arranged by the Headquarters of 54 Division, Brigades and Battalions.

Troops of Headquarters 54 Division and its under command formations arranged the event and all family members departed from Mannar with great happiness by appreciating the General Officer Commanding of 54 Division along with his under command troops who organised the entire event.
