54 DIVISION CELEBRATES NEW YEAR FESTIVAL WITH CIVILIANS
Officers and other ranks serving at the 54 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) gathered together and hold a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival on Friday (10th April 2015) with a large number of civil persons and Army personnel.\r\n\r\n\r\nAt the request of Major General MU Wijayarathna RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commander, SF HQ (W), graced the event as the Chief Guest.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe event included many varieties of traditional games and fun-making features, adding glamour and interest to the occasion. Of them, a model of the rural village that had been erected by 54 Division troops in the premises, came in for the praise of everyone, including the Commander Security Force (Wanni).\r\n\r\n\r\nGeneral Officer Commanding of other Divisions, many officers , other ranks and civilians were also present at the event and the distribution for prizes to the winners culminated the day\'s event.
