Troops of 54 Division Headquarters together with all Brigades and Battalions under command to the 54 Division launched series of programmes on 10 October 2018 in Mannar on account of the 69th Army Day.
The Day’s programme commenced with a colourful flag march representing over 48 Officer and 796 Other Ranks marched about 5km exhibiting the pride and valour of Sri Lanka Army.
As the major military formalities, flag hoisting and reading out the message of Commander of the Army were held at the Division Headquarters with the presence of General Officer Commanding 54 Division Brigadier WGHAS Bandara RWP RSP ndu.
Later on, a special mass to bless the military flags was held St. Sebastian Cathedral in Mannar town which was followed by a Bodhi Pooja arranged at Mathota RajamahaViharaya with the participation of General officer Commanding - 54 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and a large gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.
