The 5th Sri Lanka National Guard successfully completed Battalion Training at the Infantry Battalion Training School at Galkulama. A total of 9 Officers and 443 Other Ranks participated in the training, which was conducted from 18 March to 10 May 2024.
Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander of the Security Forces (Wanni) and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, emphasized the value of training in getting soldiers ready for their tasks in his closing remarks. Major General H H K S S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, and senior officers from SFHQ (W) and 21 Infantry Division attended the ceremony.
