The 62 Division celebrated its 4th anniversary that fell on 10th September 2014, with a series of programs organized throughout the month. According to the scheduled program for the 4th anniversary celebrations the ceremonies were spearheaded at sacred Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bo dhi, on 01st September followed by multi-religious function to invoke blessings to all officers, soldiers who serve under the 62 Division and their family members. Christian Religious observances at Madu Church on 06th September, Hindu Religious observances at Padikudirippu Kovil on 07th September and finally Islamic Religious observances at Mohideen Jumma Mosque on 09th September were conducted. The day of 10th September unfolded with a guard turn out offered to Brig K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG, the General Officer Commanding 62 Division followed by a tree planting ceremony, a troops address, an all ranks tea party and the charm and proud ceremony was end with an all ranks lunch.
