28TH COMMEMORATION OF LATE LT GEN DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA

The 28th death anniversary of one of the legendry military leaders in Sri Lankan Military History, late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc was commemorated in front of the Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa statue at Anuradhapura on 08 August 2020.

This gallant war hero along with a team of renowned military commanders, were victimized to a land mine blast at Arali Point, Jaffna on 08 August 1992. The day’s proceedings were comprised with religious observances, laying of floral wreaths to the monument and a humbler military traditional event. The Colonel commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and Commander 12 Division Major General ALPS Thillekerathna RWP RSP USP psc made his presence as Chief Guests for the event.

The Commander Forward Maintenance Area (N/C) Major General LPR Premalal USP along with the General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General KLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Senior Officers of Armoured Corps and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
