n alms giving to one hundred Buddhist monks of rural temples from selected remote areas with in the 211 Infantry Brigade area of responsibility was held at ’IsinbassagalaPurana Raja MahaVihara Temple’ on 07th Oct 2022. This humanitarian gesture was organized under the guidance of Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major GenaralChampakaRanasinghe, 21 Infantry Division General Officer Commanding Major General UpulWeerakoon and coordinated by Commander 211 Infantry Brigade Brigadier ChamindaWijayaratne.
The event was arranged by 211 Infantry Brigade troops of the 21 Infantry Division of the Security Force (Wanni) and sponsorship is provided by the Kadawatha Based ’Sarana Buddhist Foundatio’ of Mr. Sunil Wejewardena and financial contribution was made by a Singaporean businessman ’Mr. Seah Wong Chi’on the occasion of celebrating his Birthday.
Moreover, monetary assistance worth of Rs. 10,000 were gave away to each monk who were present at the almsgiving Ceremony.
