In view of enhancing the education of students in Wanni region, a donation programme of distributing essential school items for needy children in 211 Brigade Area of Responsibility was held on 14 December 2019 with the supervision of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc.
Over 300 students in far off schools in 211 Brigade area were given essential stationeries such as books, study materials, pens,pencils etc which was sponsored by the Buddhist Association of People’s Bank.
Students who are studying in Grade 1 – 5 were selected from V/Kalukunnanmaduwa Primary school, V/Perakum Vidyalaya, V/Alagalla Vidyalaya V/Arugam Puleliya Vidyalaya to distribute these sets of school items.
This programme was coordinated by the Commander 211 Brigade Brigadier LPKC Wijethunga RWP RSP USP under the instruction of General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc made his presence for the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest on an invitation made by the Commander 211 Brigade.
Senior Officers of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni), 21 Division and 211 Brigade along with Principals and teachers of benefited schools, students with their parents too were present at the occasion.
