21 Infantry Division held a traditional New Year festival to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 21 April 2024 at the Kumbichchankulama Tank premises with the participation of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 21 Infantry Division and their family members and Civilians in the area.
Major General, HHKSS HEWAGE RWP RSP USP rcds psc General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event featured a number of traditional and fun games including Tug-of-war, selection of the ‘Avurudu Kumara Kumari’, eye-placing on the elephant and many other Sinhala and Tamil traditional features coloured the event.
At the end of the festival, General Officer Commanding and several Senior Officers gave away gifts and trophies to the winners of the games.
