19TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 56 DIVISION PROGRAMMES BEGIN WITH BLOOD DONATION AND RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES
The precursor to the commemoration of the 19th Anniversary of the 56 Division begins on 28th Sep 16 with a Blood donation campaign at the Div HQ Auditorium, with the participation of Doctors/ Nurses of Blood Bank Vavuniya. 93 Soldiers and 7 Civil persons have donated the Blood.\r\nFurther, on 30th Sep 16 with overnight Pirith Chanting, followed by alms giving and Ata Pirikara to 21 members of the Maha Sanga took place. For this event GOC of 56 Division Brigadier IP Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Bde Comds of 561 & 563, All COs of under Comd to 56 Div and all Offrs of Div HQ has Participated.\r\nDiv Flag receive symbolic blessingfrom Islam mosque in Vauniya at 1500 hrs on1st Oct 16 and it has been followed by the Catholic Religious Observances at 1600 hrs in Vavuniya Church Christian Mass and Hindu Religious Observances at 1700 hrs in NagaPussa Amman Kovil at Kokeliya with the participation of all ranks in Div HQ.\r\nOn 3rd Oct 16 at 0900 hrs at Div HQ in which the incumbent General Officer Commanding 56 Div Brigadier IP Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc is accord Military salute in a guard turnout plus a ground of honour.\r\nOn the same day the GOC has address the Tps under Comd to 56 Div and it was followed by Prize Award Ceremony. \r\nFurther GOC planted a Tree in front of the Officers Mess in order to mark the 19th Anniversary. An all rank lunch was held at Div HQ Auditoriumand on the same day GOC 56 Div Brigadier IP Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc attended for the event as the Chief Guest.
