17 (V) SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY TROOPS MADE COMFORTABLE OF PILGRIMS

17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment made the march of Christian devotees from Madhu Road to Vavuniya more cheerful by providing drinking water, medical and other support with the guidance and instruction of General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc and supervision of commander 562 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier TMSJ Thennakoon RSP with the participation of Other Ranks on 07 March 2024.

Troops made steps to place water tanks at Vadakadu Christian Church for pilgrims to be comfortable with having breakfast. Furthermore, water tanks were placed near by Puvarasankulam Kovil with offering Lime Juice to who were marching. Christian Church of Pampeimadu was prepared with a hut and buffet to have their lunch. Ambulance was set up for emergency first aid needs and the road was wetted using water bowsers to facilitate the comfortable journey for the devotees who walking from Vadakadu to Nelukkulam.
