17 (V) SLLI HELD AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON DRUG PREVENTION TO STUDENTS OF SIRISUMANA VIDYALAYA VAVUNIYA

17 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry of 56 Infantry Division organized an awareness programme on drug prevention under the theme of ‘Achieve Victory of Childhood Beyond Challenges’ at Sirisumana Vidyalaya-Vavuniya on 22 March 2024.

The informative lecture was delivered by Mrs. HMTK Senevirathne, lecturer, counsellor and assessor of the North Central Province National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB). The lecture focused on adverse effects, illicit substances, varieties of dangerous drugs and the impact of such uses and repercussions. Over 200 students of school attended for the lecture session.

The program was launched on directions of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division and under the supervision of Brigadier TMSJ Tennakoon RSP, Commander 562 Infantry Brigade. Civil Affairs Officer of 56 Infantry Division, Second in Command of 17 (V) SLLI, Senior Officers and Officers participated for the event.
