The 56 Division Headquarters organized several multi-religious activities with its under command Brigades and Battalions in line with the 16th anniversary of the Division on 29 October 2013. Religious clergies who participated for these events also blessed the flags, badges, serving military personnel and their families. The soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of the nation were also commemorated. The programme was followed by under mentioned events.
Buddhist religious observance:
A Bhodi pooja programme was held at the temple of the Division premises at 1800 hrs. Col C H M C P Chandrasekara (Col GS – 56 Div), Col D T S Pingamage (Col AQ – 56 Div), Officers, ORs were participated for the event.
Hindu religious observance:
A special pooja was held at the Hindu Kovil of the Division premises at 1000 hrs. Col C H M C P Chandrasekara (Col GS – 56 Div), Col D T S Pingamage (Col AQ – 56 Div), Officers, ORs and civilians were participated for the occasion.
