Series of events were organized to mark the 16th Anniversary of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) which had been fallen on 26th November 2014.
With the purposive wish of obtaining blessing of all four religions, religious observances were conducted at the four famous religious places in the region. In the morning Christian religious observances were conducted at the Madhu Church with the chief participated of Brigadier Admin Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Brigadier the PSRL Rajakaruna Lsc, the Commander 211 Brigade, Brigadier DT Gamage psc and Commander 613 Brigade, Brigadier PAD Kahapola RSP on 24th November 2014. Hindu religious observances were conducted at the Mundimuruppu Hindu Temple in Vavuniya with the precedence of the Colonel of General Staff Colonel LDSS Liyanage RSP USP psc in the same day morning. With the participation of Colonel (Volunteer) Coordinating Colonel LF Kasthuriarachchi, Islamic religious observances were conducted at the Jumma Mosque Medavachchiya in the day time.
With the precedence of the Commander Forward maintenance Area (North Central), Brigadier DS Weerasekara USP, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier HP Seneviratne USP and the Commander 211 Brigade, Brigadier DT Gamage psc a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama was conducted at the sacred Vijayasri Jayasiri Maha Bodhiya in the evening after conducting a processing of Buddhist flags, flowers and requisites, with participating of large number of senior officers, officers and Other Ranks of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) in the evening.
A special social hospitality was conducted as one of these programmes at the orphanage for mentally retarded girls at Saliyapura in the morning on 25th November 2014, by donating them a breakfast and cloths with the participating of senior officers and Other Ranks of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).
The significant events of the 16th Anniversary took place on 26th November 2014, with the dawn of the day. The Commander Security Force (Wanni), Competent Authority for Internal displaced personnel in the Northern Province, Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc was honoured with a guard turnout and guard of honour by the troops in the morning at the parade square of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) with the participation of the Brigadier Admin Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Brigadier the PSRL Rajakaruna Lsc, Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Brigadier HP Seneviratne USP, Commander 211 Brigade, Brigadier DT Gamage psc and all the senior officers, officers and Other Ranks of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni). Afterward all the officers with the Commander participated for medicinal plants, planting campaign had been organized as another important programme of the day. In the day, a lunch for all the ranks in the camp premises had been organized ceremonially and they enjoyed the lunch with the Commander Security Force (Wanni) all the senior officers and officers. Due to unexpected bad rainy weather condition, an exhibition volleyball match and the monument parade that were organized had to be discontinued and same day evening was turned in to a gladsome and pleasurable with the colourful musical night when the sky was filled with the glaring fireworks, gathering was enraptured with the music and songs by the famous artists, Chandrakumara Kandanarachchi, Thayaga N Edvad, MG Danushka, Romesh Sugathapala, , Manjula Sewandi, Dilan Weraliyadda, and many singers with the Army band. The Commander Security Force (Wanni) added glamour for this musical night with the responsible gathering of General Officers Commanders, senior officers and officers. The Commander donated school stationary for Jesupuran Mun church preschool, to the father of Jesupuran Mun Rev. Sewamala and the teacher with two preschool children at this occasion.
