15TH ANNIVERSARY OF SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WANNI)
The Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on 23rd November 2013 and series of social and religious events had been organized as precursors to the ceremony during the days from 22nd to 24th November 2013.
In parallel with the programme a few major events were conducted on 22nd November 2013. An alms giving and a musical programme was arranged for the children at “Sahana†the House of Mentally Retarded children at Saliyapura Anuradhapura in the morning. The children were made happy and provided with delicious set of meal with the support of the soldiers in Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni). In the evening an especial event was organized in front of the monument to tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes at the SF HQ (W), with the presence of Commander Security Forces (Wanni), the officers and other ranks of the SF HQ (W).
The two events were successfully conducted with the excellent guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Competent Authority for resettling Internal Displaced Personnel in Northern Province Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP ndu psc, Brigadier AQ Brigadier P S R L Rajakaruna Lsc and Brigadier GS Brigadier HP Seneviratne USP.
