With the continuation of the successes the Bde was assigned the task of capture of LTTE’s one of the most important areas of Pudukudiyirippu. The Bde was renamed as 682 Infantry Brigade and placed under Task Force 8 on 15 February 2009. Then location was the area Manankandal.
