The foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed house to be constructed for the low-income family of Mr P D Wasantha in Nikapitiya, Bakamuna in Polonnaruwa district took place on 10 January 2022 under the instructions of the Commander Security Force (East), Major General Lal Chandrasiri and the programme was coordinated by the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatta and the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Wasantha Hewage.

A water leak occurred on the Bakmeegama tank bund in Bakmeegama Grama Niladahari Division due to heavy rains was repaired using sand bags by 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 31 December 2021. After the matter was brought to the notice of the troops, Major General Sanath Aluvihare, GOC 22 Infantry Division instructed the Commander 223 Infantry Brigade to attend to the need with his troops.
