New constructions at 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (7 SLSC) were declared open on 18 December 2017 and these ceremonies were graced by the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps & Chief Signal Officer Major General BHMA Wijesinghe USP ndu psc along with the Director Information Technology Brigadier DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc accepting the invitation of Commanding Officer and All Ranks of 7 SLSC

A lecture has been conducted on Depression and how it cause to commit suicide by the Psychological Counselor and Physician Doctor Chaminda De Alwis Weerasiriwardane on 30 January 2018 at Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy which is under the Security Forces (Central). In accordance with the directions of the Commander of the Army and the instructions of the Directorate of Psychological Operations this was organized.

The foundation stone for the new shrine at Viru Kekulu Preschool, Diyatalawa was laid by Mrs Chandrika Senanayake , the President Seva Vanitha Unit, Sri Lanka Army on 14 September 2017. Amidst the sermons recited by the Buddhist monks at Ellegama Temple, the foundation stone was placed.
