Forty numbers of wounded gallant war heroes, who were immensely contributed to wipeout the brutal LTTE from Sri Lanka were rewarded to appreciate their voluntary dedication by the public donors.
Newly constructed Galant Drinking Water Bottle Project in the Ingiriya Infantry Valley Premises was Inaugurated by the Deputy Chief of Staff, The Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Maj Gen TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu on 12th January 2022 and it was ceremonially handed over to Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuwakku, Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Infantry. It was built under the full supervision, guidance and manpower contribution of the Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment Center. Senior Officers of the Council, Centre Commandant, Senior Staff Officers and Senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch joined the occasion.
The first General Meeting of the Seva Vanitha branch year 2022 was held on 23.01.2022 at 1500hr at the Officers’ Residence, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Center under the patronage of the Hon. Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuwakku. The Hon. Vice Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch, the Hon. Secretary and other senior members participated in the meeting. The relevant general meeting was held in accordance with the health laws and regulations imposed on the current epidemic of Covid 19 in the country.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Iight Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch was taken place on Monday 10th August 2020 at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Officers’ Mess.
Mrs. Anuja Jayaweera was appointed as the 8th president of the Sri Lanka light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch on 29.07.2020 following the resignation of the former Honorary President Chaya Gunaratne who served as the president of the Seva Vanitha Branch for nearly 4 months.
As per the directions of Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit, an annual hospital visit to the Abhimansala at Anuradhapura was conducted under the supervision of Thushari kulatunga, the honourable chairperson of Seva Vanitha branch SLLI in cooperated with the Col of the Regiment Maj Gen JR Kulatunga RSP ndc psc and Maj Gen LM Mudalige RWP RSP ndu Commander 24 Division, Col DAK Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP the Centre Commandant, Senior Officers, the honourable secretary Seva vanitha branch SLLI, Senior members of the branch and Senior actress Malani Fonseka, Sachini Ayendra, Wathsala Diyalagoda, Udari Perera, actor Roshan Ranawana and Senior Modelist were also graced the occasion. Sri Lanka Light Infantry Sevavanitha Unit has always been dedicated and focuses on the welfare of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry members and their families. Further, under the direct supervision and guidance of the Maj Gen J R Kulathunga RSP ndc psc – Colonel of the Regiment and Mrs Thushari Kulathunga – Presiden Sri Lanka Light Infantry Sevavanitha Unit have facilitated the contribution to much valued welfare endeavour’s and managed to provide financial support for medical and education of the soldiers and their family members.
Sri Lanka Light Infantry - Seva Vanitha Unit (SLLI-SVU) Chairperson, Mrs Thushari Kulathunga visited the Anuradhapura - ‘Abimansala’ wellness resort on Saturday (21).
On 22 Aug 17, by the President of Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Light Infantry donated a cheque worth of Rs.100,000/= to Lakidu Weerasinghe who is the son of Lt Col WAYK Weerasinghe SLLI has been selected to the Asian Swimming Competition is being held from 08 to 12 Sep 17.
The Hon. President of Seva Vanitha Branch SLLI, Mrs Dananjani Karunasekara and some of members visited the Ranaviru Sevana Ragama on 30th Jun 2017 and presented two wheel chairs to disable War Heroes. Mrs. Indira Wijerathne, a senior member of the branch coordinated the donor. During the visit, they arranged a tea for the war heroes.
