On the concept of Infantry Regiment Commander Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP NDU PSC Senior Officer and on the advice and guidance of Mrs. Utpala Hettiarachchi, Honorary Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch, a program to award scholarships to the sons of war heroes on 14.10.2023 Reg. Conducted at Regimental Auditorium SLLI.
In gratitude to Ms. Dhanusha Weerasuriya, who served as the 11th Honorary President of Seva Vanitha Branch, who played a great role in bringing the welfare of war veterans to a higher level on behalf of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, and to Priyanka Peiris, the former secretary, who rendered invaluable service to Seva Vanitha Branch by giving her contribution and advice to the Veterans Welfare Projects. A farewell evening get-together organized for the presentation was held. On the advice and guidance of Mrs. Utpala Hettiarachchi, Honorary Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch, on the evening of 27.08.2023, Honorary Chairperson and senior members participated in this friendly meeting held at RHQ SLLI Officer's Mess. According to the concept of the Chief of Army Staff and Commander of Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment, Major General CD Weerasuriya RWP RSP NDU, senior officer under the advice and guidance of Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya, Honorary President of Sri Lanka Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, representing the regimental center and all units. And a ceremony to distribute essential school exercise books and equipment to the daughters of civil servants to succeed in their education was held on 25.02.2023 at 0900 hours at RHQ SLLI Lecture Hall under the supervision of the Honorable Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch. Senior members of the Seva Vanitha branch and senior officers, including Regimental Center Commandant Colonel MPSP Kulasekera WWV RWP RSP, participated in the occasion.
Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya, who has just been appointed as the 11th Honorary President of Seva Vanita Branch of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, started her duties as the Honorary President of Seva Vanita Branch at the auspicious moment of 03.12.2022 at 1032 hours, where the Chief of Staff and Col of the Regiment Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment . S/321943 Sergeant Wickramasinghe WMSP and S/320194 Cpl Senevirathna were personal financial donated of General CD Weerasuriya RWP RSP NDU and Honorary President of Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya. A wheelchair and a pair of crutches were donated to the two war heroes Ral Senaviratne BGM. for this auspicious moment Senior members of Seva Vanita Branch and senior officers of Regimental Center participated in that event.
On 21.10.2022, a visit was made to the Mihidu Seth Madura Atthidiya Hospital under the guidance of Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuvakku, the Honorary president of the Sri Lanka Infantry Seva Vanita Branch, as instructed by the Army Seva Vanita Unit. There, a tea party was held for the patients along with snacks and a donation of sanitary equipment and first aid kits for the inpatients was also made. Calypso band gave musical entertainment to encourage the inpatients. Conducted with the participation of senior members and officers of the regimental center.
The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch has organized a Dhamma Sermon on the occasion of Wesak Poya day. The Damma Sermon was organized to wish nirvana to the fallen war heroes, to wish speedy recovery for the members of SLLI who are under treatment due to Wounded in Action and to wish good health and blessings for the active members, civil servants in SLLI and their family members.
