On the concept of Infantry Regiment Commander Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP NDU PSC Senior Officer and on the advice and guidance of Mrs. Utpala Hettiarachchi, Honorary Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Branch, a program to award scholarships to the sons of war heroes on 14.10.2023 Reg. Conducted at Regimental Auditorium SLLI.
Scholarships were awarded to the sons of officers and other ranks and civil servants who were killed/missing due to terrorist attacks during the operation, who were injured and are serving, and who are studying in the year 2022 G.C.E A/L The children who obtained 03 passes were evaluated and awarded a scholarship of 20,000.00 rupees per person, and in conjunction with the World Children's Day 2023, one selected from among those who have 4 or more children from the families of other officers and civil servants serving in this regiment. An amount of Rs.10000.00 per month for 03 months and Rs.30000.00 for the successful education of a child, and scholarships and a set of school equipment for 29 sons of war heroes with various difficulties were awarded here.
Also, Dr. Rumi Reuben of Teaching Hospital Karapitiya gave a very timely lecture on "Interpersonal Therapy" on behalf of the members of Seva Vanita Branch, and a group of staff members including the Acting Commandant of the Regimental Center and senior members of Seva Vanita Branch participated in this event.
