The Commanding Officers’ Conference of the Gemunu Watch presided by the Colonel of the Regiment was held on 19 January 2015 at the Regimental centre The Gemunu Watch Kuruvita., all Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of Regimental Centre were among the participants.

O/60078 Brig JCP Paksaweera RSP USP was promoted to the Rank of Major General on 06 Nov 2015. A Felicitation ceremony including a Guard turnout and a parade was held at the Regimental Centre The Gemunu Watch.

Gemunu Watch Ex Serviceman Association was held at the Regimental Center premises of the Gemunu Watch on 10 May 2015. A large no of ex serviceman including retired Senior Officers attend to the occasion. Col of the Rgt-GW Maj Gen PUS Vithanage RSP ,the Commandant RHQ GW and other Senior Staff officers of RHQ GW also presented at the event to welcome and falicitate the veterans those who sacrificed their service to up held the name of the Regiment and the Army.

Ceremony to Donate a house to Cpl Wikcramarathna MM – 8 GW, the fallen war hero of the Gemunu Watch which constructed with help of the financial donations of Gemunu Watch Seva vanitha branch held in wellawaya on 10 April 2015 with the grace of Mrs. Monika Vithanage, President, Gemunu Seva Vanitha Branch. The ownership of the house was symbolically handed over to beloved wife of the fallen war hero.

Centre Commandant of the Gemunu Watch Brig PI Pathirathna during his first working day addressed the tps in the New Year 2016 at Regimental Centre The Gemunu Watch where a customary ceremony took place in the presence of a representative gathering of officers and other rankers. Paying a tribute to all those working in the Army, the comfy reminded them of the importance of fulfilling their duties to the best of their capabilities for the best interest of the public and the country at large, who are footing the cost of salaries.

The Gemunu Watch bid farewell to its outgoing Major General MK Jayawardene RSP ndu on 05 March 2016, who retired after serving 35 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Headquarters, Kuruvita.

Brig KDCGJ Tilakaratne RSP assumed duties as new Centre Commandant of Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch on 05th August 2016. Guard Turnout was accorded to new Centre Commandant. Religious ceremonies and placing of flower wreath to fallen war heroes’ monument were taken place,subsequently takeover of duties.

Major General LBR Mark RSP USP ndu, The Col of the Regt of the Gemunu Watch retired from the active service on 17 May 2014 after completing 34 year of successful service in Sri Lanka Army.

681 Brigade troops of 68 Division under Security Force Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with financial support received from ‘Global Village Friendship Organization’ of South Korea, built a new house for a widow in Mullaittivu area after her plight was brought to the notice. The new house, constructed following initiatives taken by Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, was handed over to the recipient during a brief ceremony at Mullivaikkal East, Mullaittivu on Wednesday (8). Keys to the house were delivered by the SFHQ-MLT Commander.
