    General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army announced that travel restrictions now in force will be extended till 4.00 am on 21 June 2021 and will not be lifted on 14 June 2021.

    The foundation stone was laid at Adapana Hospital premises at Kamburupitiya in Matara District for construction of a new ward for COVID-19 infected pregnant mothers as an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) in the event of any emergency after an increase of the victims.
