A representative managerial team of 'Sunquick Lanka' Company Limited considering fatigued and committed COVID-19 prevention roles, being performed by frontline service personnel across the country gifted a consignment of 100,000 sachets of Sunquick fruit drinks to General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army for distribution among frontliners as refreshments.

The foundation stone was laid at Adapana Hospital premises at Kamburupitiya in Matara District for construction of a new ward for COVID-19 infected pregnant mothers as an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) in the event of any emergency after an increase of the victims. As of this morning (6), a total of 3,103 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 09 Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest 3,094 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 828 from Colombo District, 544 from Gampaha District, 255 from Kurunegala District and 1467 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The Territorial Salvation Army Headquarters at Colombo 2 using their own allocated funds for COVID-19 treatment and prevention work in Sri Lanka donated a BiPap Ventilator, worth about Rs 1.3 million for use of patients with chronic respiratory complications to General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.
