Kilinochchi-based troops in coordination with the office of the Regional Director of Health Services - Kilinochchi launched the national vaccination drive at Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya premises on Tuesday (14) in order to accelerate and expand the vaccination programme by inoculating the public over 30 years of citizens in the Kilinochchi District.
The Forward Maintenance Area - KLN HQ took the initiative in this regard on the direction of the Commander Reserve Strike Corps, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe. The Commander FMA -KLN Major General Nilam Herath, Commanding Officers of the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 5 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police & Chief Medical Officer Army Base Hospital -KLN closely supervised the project.
The Army, empowers the ongoing vaccination drive is now fully committed across the island, introducing mobile vaccination programmes too on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak as per instructions of HE the President Gotabaya Rajapakse.
