  • Army Mobile Vaccination Fleet Begins Taking Vaccination Drive to New Heights

    The Sri Lanka Army taking the country's national vaccination drive to new heights and prioritizing the COVID-19 vaccination for the elderly, sick, handicapped and feeble sections in society will inaugurate the mobilization of its Western Province-based Mobile Vaccination Fleet, beginning Thursday (12) morning at the Army Headquarters - Sri Jayawardenapura as per directions given by General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

  • 2,961 More Positive Cases Reported - NOCPCO

    As of this morning (9), a total of 2,961 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 5 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,956 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 852 from Colombo District, 320 from Kalutara District, 319 from Gampaha District and 1,465 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

  • 2,794 More Affected Ones Detected - NOCPCO

    As of this morning (7), a total of 2,794 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 2were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,792 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 548 from Kalutara District, 369 from Gampaha District, 356 from Colombo District and 1,519 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

    One more session of the Task Force in the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya this afternoon (05), headed by General Shavendra Silva, Head of the NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, together with Director General of Health Services, Dr Asela Gunawardena, all other medical specialists, health administrators and relevant officials had a wide-ranging discussion on the current updates and rising numbers of COVID-19 patients and deaths.

    The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) personnel of the Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health Services extending their prioritized concern for the national vaccination drive as per close instructions of General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Staff and Commander of the Army, have for the first time begun a round the clock vaccination project for the 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca (Covishield) at the Viharamaha Devi Park Open Theater, Colombo ( 1st & 2nd August) and Battaramulla ‘Diyatha Uyana’ (from 2nd August onwards until Wednesday) round the clock.
