As of this morning (6), a total of 2,674 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 5 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,669 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 446 from Gampaha District, 377 from Kalutara District, 266 from Galle District and 1,580 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (6), a total of 321,428 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 210,998 were reported after the New Year.
By Friday (6) morning (past 24 hours), 1,841 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 04 August, 94 more deaths have been reported including 49 males and 45 females.
As of Friday (6), 4,192 persons in 68 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. By Friday (6) morning, 744 persons have left 16 QCs after completion of their quarantining process.
