A representative managerial team of 'Sunquick Lanka' Company Limited considering fatigued and committed COVID-19 prevention roles, being performed by frontline service personnel across the country gifted a consignment of 100,000 sachets of Sunquick fruit drinks to General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army for distribution among frontliners as refreshments.
Mr Mangala Perera, Managing Director of the donor company, together with Mr Chandima Samarasinghe, General Manager and Mr Padmalal de Silva, Consultant, appreciating unmatched COVID-19 roles of service personnel, majority being from the Army gifted the stock of refreshing drinks sachets of 200 ml to the value of Rs 6 million, which is rich with an irresistible taste of fresh quality after calling at the Army Headquarters this morning (11). The initiative, taken by the donor company was at first intimated to General Shavendra Silva before the symbolic donation occurred at the Commander's office.
General Shavendra Silva accepting the donation symbolically commended the donors’ thoughtfulness and appreciation of the role, being performed by tri-servicemen against COVID-19 transmission and extended best wishes for its future endeavours.
Mr. Mangala Perera, Managing Director, Mr Chandima Samarasinghe, General Manager and Mr Padmalal de Silva, Consultant, were present during the meet with the Commander of the Army.
