    Troops of the Security Force HQ - West renovated a dilapidated Ward for COVID-19 patients in the Avissawella Base Hospital which could accommodate 40 beds and formally vested it in the authorities on Monday (31) by Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander Security Forces –West for patients as one more project.

    As of this morning (2), a total of 2,877 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were one foreigner, 31 Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest 2,845 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 654 from Gampaha District, 646 from Colombo District, 281 from Kalutara District and 1,264 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

    Giving further strength to recovery process, 613 Brigade troops under the 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) established an ICC in the Mawarala Hospital compound and converted it to accommodate some 25 COVID-19 patients.

    613 Brigade troops under the 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) renovated an abandoned building in the Morawaka hospital compound and converted it as an ICC for 54 COVID-19 patients.

    In order to accommodate 75 more COVID-19 patients, 3 Gemunu Watch (3 GW) and Corps of Engineer Services troops under command to the 613 Brigade of the 61 Division under the Security Forces – West established an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) at Akuressa Hospital compound and formally vested it in hospital authorities on Saturday (29).
