613 Brigade Troops Convert Abandoned Hospital Building as ICC

613 Brigade troops under the 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) renovated an abandoned building in the Morawaka hospital compound and converted it as an ICC for 54 COVID-19 patients.

The renovation process was inaugurated on the direction of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva under supervision of Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander, SF-West together with Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division.

Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku, Commander, 613 Brigade together with 3 Gemunu Watch troops in less than a few days carried out the project. It was formally vested in the hospital authorities on Saturday (29).
