  • Kandy, Kalutara & Nuwara Eliya Districts Report Increased Cases-NOCPCO

    As of this morning (16), a total of 2386 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 338 are from Kandy District. Among them, the majority 33 were from Kandy town area, 32 from Menikhinna, 27 from Thalathuoya and 24 from Katugastota, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

  • Colombo, Galle & Gampaha Record Highest Positive Cases- NOCPCO

    As of this morning (15), a total of 2289 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 555 are from Colombo District. Among them were 126 from Piliyandala, 42 from Moratuwa, 35 from Maharagama and 33 from Boralesgamuwa, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

  • 2269 More Confirmed Positive to COVID-19 in Past 24 Hrs - NOCPCO

    As of this morning (14), a total of 2269 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 643 are from Colombo District. Among them were 39 from Boralesgamuwa, 39 from Piliyandala, 37 from Hanwella and 33 from Homagama, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

  • Army-improvised Point Pedro's ICC Ready with Manthikai Medical Staff

    Security Force HQ-Jaffna, together with troops in respective areas within a few days on the directions of the Head, NOCPCO converted Vaddakkodai Technical College building in Vaddakkodai to serve as a fully-furnished Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) where 200 infectees can be accommodated in the event of any emergency.

  • Wanni Security Forces Have 770 Beds in 5 ICCs Ready

    With a view to readying for any emergency, the Security Force HQ-Wanni managed to convert 5 places to serve as COVID-19 Intermediate Care Centres (ICCs) in the event of any emergency as directed by General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

  • Travel Movements Banned from Thursday (13) Evening up until Monday (17) Morning- Head, NOCPCO

    14th May 2021 14:23:39 Hours

    A ban on travel movements within the district and regions is to be imposed, effective from 11.00 pm on Thursday (13) up until 4.00 am on Monday (17) according to General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army who said people going exclusively for vaccination purposes and other essential services would however be exempted from this restriction.

  • Nuwara Eliya Ready to Receive 500 Infectees in any Emergency

    Troops of the 112 Brigade and the 3 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment camp in Nuwara Eliya in less than 72 hours took steps to convert the Town Hall building at Nuwara Eliya to serve as an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) in the event of any surge in the number of infectees of COVID-19 in the region.

  • 2429 More Confirmed Positive to Virus in Past 24 Hrs - NOCPCO

    As of this morning (13), a total of 2429 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 413 are from Colombo District. Among them, were 146 from Piliyandala, 24 from Narahenpita, 19 from Thalangama and 16 from Mount Lavinia, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

  • 231 Brigade Troops Educate Kattankudy & Eravur People on COVID-19 Epidemic

    4 Gemunu Watch and 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 231 Brigade of the 23 Division under the Security Force HQ-East in order to enlighten the public on COVID-19 symptoms, prevention and precautionary measures, conducted a community awareness project in and around Kattankudy and Eravur town areas on Sunday (9) with the support of Policemen in Kattankudy and Eravur Police Stations.

  • 512 Brigade troops Disinfect Jaffna Town

    17 Gemunu Watch, 14 Gajaba Regiment and 512 Brigade Troops of the 51 Division on the directions of Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna, together with guidance given by the General Officer Commanding, 51 Division, 512 Brigade Commander and respective Commanding Officers on Thursday (12) carried out a thorough sterilization project in the heart of Jaffna town with the objective of curtailing the speedy transmission of the deadly virus among the general public.
