Upon arrival at the main gate, he was welcomed by Deputy Commandant Brigadier RGLK Weerakoon RWP RSP, with a Guard Turnout. A formal Guard of Honour followed, underscoring the significance of the occasion.

Brigadier BMSKK Dharmawardena RWP RSP USP, the Center Commandant at the Commando Regiment's Regimental Center, officially handed over his duties on August 27, 2024, as he prepared for retirement. Sri Lanka Army Commandos, as a pioneering and qualified entity to conduct hostage rescue operations in Sri Lanka, conducted the hostage rescue basic course for 03 x 14 MNDF members at Ganemulla camp premises from 22 April 2024 to 31 May 2024.
