Major General M R Razick RSP ndu, the Centre Commandant of the Commando Regiment Centre, ceremonially relinquished his duties on 27 August 2025, marking the end of a distinguished chapter of his service as Centre Commandant.

A customary felicitation ceremony was held at the Commando Regimental Centre, Ganemulla on 19 August 2025 to honour the newly promoted Major General P S J D Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc and Major General M R Razick RSP ndu. The event was organized in keeping with the traditions of the Commando Regiment to extend a salute to its distinguished senior officers.

A special workshop was organized by the Regimental Centre Commando Regiment for 92 Senior Non Commission Officers (SNCOs) and Non Commission Officers (NCOs) of the Commando Direct batch 23, who are set to retire in the coming days after completing 22 years of dedicated service to the nation. These brave personnel played a pivotal role in bringing an end to the decades-long conflict in Sri Lanka.

A special awareness and grievance redressal program was successfully conducted on 04th June 2025 at the Commando Regiment Headquarters in Ganemulla with the distinguished leadership of Brigadier W A S R Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Director of the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation. The program was further strengthened by the participation of several senior officers, including Colonel (Rehabilitation) M A I A D R S Irasinghe RWP of the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, Lieutenant Colonel K V T S Kekulawala LSC, the Deputy Centre Commandant of the Commando Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel K S Prasantha the SO1 (VA) Regiment Center Commando Regiment, several Staff Officers of the AHQs and number of Senior Officers and Officers from Commando Regiment.
