Conforming to the direction of the Commander of the Army, OCDC conducted a lecture on ‘Women’s Rights’ coinciding with its scheduled weekly training Day programme for Other Ranks on 12 February 2020. As per the instructions given by the Commandant of OCDC, Captain HMDS Senarathne of 2 SLAGSC conducted the lecture for them at the Mini Auditorium of OCDC.

Officer Career Development Centre (OCDC) successfully conducted the college Hash Run with the intention of promoting team building and entertainment among the student officers of UCC 6, JCC 18 and JSC 18 amidst their busy schedule on 14 March 2020. The event was held under the patronage of Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Commandant of OCDC , permanent staff and their families also joined in this event.

Despite COVID 19 outbreak, the strenuous study period of UCC 6, JCC 18 and JSC 18, culminated with a glamourous Graduation Ceremony on 30 March 2020. This glorious occasion was graced by the Commandant as the Chief Guest and the Deputy Commandant, the Chief Instructor, the Senior Instructors and other members of the permanent staff also attended the ceremony.

Col TCMGST Cooray RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the Chief Instructor of OCDC Buttala on 15 May 2020 as the 7th CI of OCDC. A simple ceremony of religious observances was held to obtain blessings before symbolically taking up the appointment. Amidst religious observances, the new Chief Instructor, placed his signature on an official document, symbolising the formal acceptance of the office at the auspicious minute.

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lt Gen LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc paid his first official visit to Officer Career Development Centre on 15th June 2020 upon the invitation by the Commandant.

OCDC celebrated this year's State Poson Festival as a low-key celebration under the theme of 'Health is the Greatest Wealth'. The event was commemorated with the participation of limited number of participants including senior and junior officers including other ranks at the camp premises. The camp premise was decorated with Vesak lanterns and colourful illuminations. A replica of Mihinthalawa Rock put up in the camp premises, depicting the arrival of Arahath Mahinda Thero to Sri Lanka back then and it was one of the main attractions among all decorations. The day's proceedings were ended with a Dharma Sermon held at the camp temple; 'Prangna Vihara' by following the government health safty guidelines.
