COMMANDER, SECURITY FORCES (WANNI) VISITS 59 INFANTRY DIVISION AOR TO APPRECIATE TROOPS AND INSPECT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc visited the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of the 59 Infantry Division with the primary objective of appreciating officers and soldiers for their dedicated and selfless service rendered during and after the recent Ditwa disaster situation.

During the visit, the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) expressed his sincere gratitude to all ranks for their unwavering commitment, resilience, and professionalism demonstrated in disaster response, relief operations, and post-disaster recovery efforts. He commended their vital contribution to safeguarding civilian lives and restoring normalcy in affected areas.

In addition, Major General Kulatunga inspected the ongoing Nayaru Bridge construction project, which is being carried out with the active involvement of Army troops in coordination with relevant civil authorities. He also visited several key infrastructure and strategic locations, including the Muthiyankattu Tank, Wadduakal Bridge, Kokilai Temple, and the Security Forces Diving Training School, where he observed ongoing activities and assessed progress.

The Commander addressed troops at the 59 Infantry Division Headquarters and the 592 Infantry Brigade, commending all ranks for their high morale, discipline, and operational readiness. He emphasized the importance of maintaining combat efficiency while continuing to support national development initiatives and disaster management operations when required.

The visit was further enriched by the presence of Major General M W S Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division, who accompanied the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) throughout the inspection and engagements, underscoring the strong leadership focus and close coordination within the formation.
