EMERGENCY RESCUE MISSION LAUNCHED IN WASANTHIPURAM VILLAGE

An emergency rescue operation was launched in Wasanthipuram Village to assist families who were trapped in their homes due to severe flooding.

The mission was conducted under the guidance of the Commander, Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Major General K M P S B Kulathunga RSP ndc psc, the supervision of the Commander, 59 Infantry Division, Major General M W S Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc, and the close direction of the Commander, 593 Infantry Brigade, Colonel H S K Jayasinghe RSP.

Troops of 6 GW, organized 03x25, were deployed to the Wasanthipuram general area and successfully rescued 180 civilians including Female x 117 and Meal x 63. The rescued individuals were safely transported to Mannakandal Primary School for temporary shelter.

This humanitarian operation was carried out with strict adherence to all safety measures, ensuring the protection of children, elderly persons, and all civilians throughout the mission.
