Under the guidance of the Major General W W M P W W B R Palamakumbura RWP RSP General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, with close supervision of Brigadier B A M P Balasooriya RSP Commander 212 Infantry Brigade, the 212 Infantry Brigade activated a sustainable initiative to an eco-conscious programme in parallel to the “Clean Sri Lanka” campaign on 17 February 2025. The main focus was on removal of non-biodegradable waste such as plastic, polythene, and glass around the sacred city of Anuradhapura (Atamasthana) and the Thisa tank and Basawakkulama tank bunds. Deputy General Officer Commanding - 21 Infantry Division, Commander 212 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers including 16 x 300 troops from 212 and 213 Brigades, the Logistic Command (Wanni), and the Civil Security Department also participated in the programme.
