RESCUE OF MYANMAR REFUGEES

A boat carrying 102 Myanmar refugees were found at Mullaitivu Wellamullivaikkal sea while trying to land in the beach, and stopped by the Army and Navy troops due to security reasons and unsafe landing. Later the boat was directed to Trincomalee Harbor with the security of the Navy. While anchoring on the sea refugees were provided with fresh meals, dry foods water and other sanitary facilities by thetroops of 593 Infantry Brigade, under the direction of the General Officer Commanding of 59 Infantry Division Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP.
