The 561 Infantry Brigade commemorated its 15th anniversary on 07 December 2024 with a series of events that honored its proud heritage, fostered camaraderie, and reaffirmed its commitment to excellence. The celebrations were held under the leadership of Brigadier B D Fernando USP Hdmc psc.
The day began with a solemn Bodhi Pooja ceremony, seeking blessings for the Brigade’s continued success and the well-being of its personnel. This spiritual observance set a reverent tone for the day’s proceedings.
A ceremonial Guard Turnout was held to honor the Commander Brigadier B D Fernando USP Hdmc psc, and followed by the troops address was a pivotal moment of the day, during which BrigadB D Fernando USP Hdmc psc, acknowledged the Brigade’s remarkable achievements. He paid tribute to the dedication, sacrifices, and resilience of its personnel, urging all ranks to uphold the Brigade’s values, remain steadfast in their duties, and strive for greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
The celebrations further nurtured camaraderie through an All-Rank lunch, fostering unity among the Brigade’s personnel.
The day concluded with vibrant activities that captured the Brigade’s dynamic spirit. A musical show brought joy and relaxation, while Volley Ball and cricket tournaments highlighted the troops' physical fitness, teamwork, and competitive spirit. These events created a lively and memorable atmosphere, strengthening bonds and promoting unity within the Brigade.
