Vesak Day Celebrated at 64 Infantry Division with Lantern Display and Dansala

The 64 Infantry Division marked Vesak Day with a vibrant and meaningful celebration featuring a beautifully crafted Vesak lantern and a community Dansala. The event was ceremonially inaugurated by the Overlooking General Officer Commanding of the 64 Infantry Division and Commander of the 592 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K L I Karunanayaka RWP RSP ndc.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the Vesak lantern, symbolizing the illumination of wisdom, peace, and spiritual awakening. Following this, the Dansala was officially declared open, offering tea buns and tea to the many civilians in attendance a heartfelt gesture embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion central to Vesak.

The event was graced by the presence of senior officers, officers, other ranks, and a large gathering of civilians. Residents from surrounding areas flocked to the venue to witness the colorful lantern display and partake in the Dansala offerings.

The occasion fostered a warm and harmonious atmosphere, strengthening the bond between the military and the local community. It truly reflected the essence of Vesak a celebration of peace, unity, and goodwill.
