TWO-DAY PHYSIOTHERAPY TRAINING WORKSHOP AT SFHQ (WANNI)

As per the concept of the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc and with the provision of his own physiotherapist, a two-day Physiotherapy Training Workshop was conducted at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) on 25 and 26 December 2025. The programme aimed at developing a professional and technologically advanced Army while strengthening ethical standards, confidentiality, non-judgmental attitudes, discipline, self-care, time management, and continuous professional development among instructors.

The training also emphasized the importance of regular self-reflection, seeking constructive feedback, and maintaining openness to professional growth in order to enhance therapeutic approaches. A total of 31 Physical Training Instructors serving under Security Forces (Wanni) participated in the workshop, which provided an excellent opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge and counselling skills.

The programme was conducted by S/12Q 01829 Corporal Samantha Bandara, HMS RSP, National Sports Coach, Advanced Sports Massage Therapist (Ayurvedic and Western), Physical Training Instructor, and Physiotherapist.
