SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE YOUNG OFFICERS’ UNIT ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTS COURSE 2025 – STAGE 01 COMMENCES AT SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WANNI)

According to the instructions given by the Directorate of Training, the Young Officers’ Unit Administration and Accounts Course designed to provide both practical and theoretical knowledge on unit administration and account to officers who have completed the Young Officers’ Course is scheduled to be conducted from 03 November 2025 to 21 November 2025.

Further, total 28 young officers from 1 Corps,the under-command formations of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) and Security Force Headquarters (East) participating in this course. The opening address and the closing addressed was delivered by Brigadier K T R B Kodippili psc, Brigadier General Staff (BGS), Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).

The course is being conducted under the guidance of the Directorate of Training and the close supervision of Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc Commander, Security Forces (Wanni). Moreover with the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) two Diners’ Club sessions were organized to enhance the professional military understanding of young officers .

a) The first session, titled “How and Why We Should Become Military Professionals,” was conducted by the Commander 543 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier N R L Gunasena ctf ndu psc.

b) The second session, titled “The Enduring Value of Military Education,” was conducted by the Commander 213 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier B N S B Rangama RSP USP psc.

In addition, SFHQ (W) organized a field visit to Mullaitivu area, providing officers to explore key locations associated with humanitarian operations. This field visit offered young officers firsthand exposure to former operational areas, deepening their understanding of the battlefield environment and enabling them to connect theoretical knowledge with real battle scenarios.

Overall, This program aims to enhance the professional knowledge of junior officers on unit administration and accounting. It will also be highly beneficial for them in facing upcoming promotion examinations.
