SCHOOL EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

A School Equipment Distribution Programme was conducted on 22 December 2025 to provide essential school supplies required for one academic year to 115 school children affected by recent floods. In addition, gift items were presented to 25 teachers serving at the beneficiary schools.

The programme was carried out for the following schools under the area of responsibility of the 542 Infantry Brigade. Madupara Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya, Kaddiadappana Roman Catholic Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Thampanekulam Roman Catholic Tamil Primary School, and Panniwettuvan Roman Catholic Tamil Primary School.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division, and under the supervision of Brigadier R R W C Asurasinghe RWP RSP USP, Commander of the 542 Infantry Brigade.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the 4th Battalion, Gajaba Regiment, actively contributed to the successful organization of the event.
